This August, a brilliant community day in the sunshine for our National Tree Day planting at Freeburgh. Almost 500 trees planted along the Ovens River with our 100% biodegrable tall tree guards (strong enough to keep out the deer). We planted species native to this area including Blackwood, Swamp Gum and Callisternon supplied by Alpine Nursery at Ovens.
There were smiles and laughter, a lot of sweat and aching muscles, fresh cakes and fruit, hot tea and the perfect BBQ by Gini and Andy.
Great to partner these projects with Scott from North East CMA and Ross from Parks Victoria. Welcome support too from the staff at Alpine Shire Council, HVP Plantations, Friends of Mount Buffalo and lots of local community members.
A huge vote of thanks to all involved.
