Last Sunday, volunteers and land managers spent productive morning at Braithwaite’s Beach, Porepunkah. Members of the Australian Trout Foundation Inc were joined by Myrtleford Landcare and Upper Ovens Valley Landcare Group and North East CMA to plant over 500 trees as part of the Bridging Waters project, revitalising sections of the Ovens river.
Rock and stonework stabilised the riverbank, native tree planting re-establishes the canopy and provides a wildlife corridor.

This site brings a total of over 10,000 native trees at various sites from Harrietville to Ovens.
We were also joined by Steve Manning and members of the Voices for Ovens Valley group, fact-finding ahead of the State election in November.
