Sunday is National Tree (Planting) Day and Upper Ovens Valley Landcare Group have 200 plants waiting to go in at One Mile Creek/Ovens River. We need all the help we can get. It would be great if you can come along and give a hand to plant and guard the trees and shrubs, then stay on for a UOVLG-hosted barbecue at 1 pm.
Meet at the site. Driving from Porepunkah on the Great Alpine Road toward Myrtleford, it is approx 1.3 km on the left past the Back Porepunkah road (Station St) turnoff. Take care, it is a busy, high speed road. Park and walk well off the road. If it’s not too wet, four wheel drives may be able to drive onto the site.
Bring gloves, hat, and favourite digging tool and if you have it, a mallet.
