Tree Planting Day, Freeburgh

This is a rescheduled National Tree Day event. All welcome, so please update your diary.

Meet at the Old Harrietville Road Bridge, near the Great Alpine Road intersection at Freeburgh (Pinned below. Close by a water storage offtake pipe). Pinned below.

This event is to plant over 500 native trees and bushes along a one kilometre section of the Ovens River which has been inaccessible for many years due to thick blackberries and woody weeds. Thanks to our partners at North East CMA and Parks Victoria, these weeds have been cleared, and the ground mulched, ready for our planting.

As this is a family event children are very welcome and we ask that you observe the Parks Victoria ‘Working with Children’ protocols: https://www.parkconnect.vic.gov.au/Volunteer/childsafety/

Lunch will be provided. Wear suitable clothes, a hat, gloves and sturdy footwear. Bring your favourite planting tools, although we will provide them.
