Yesterday, the Upper Ovens Valley Landcare Group secured a new trapping site in the targeted Porepunkah/Buckland area. Paul Makrikostas, the owner of Tewksbury Lodge beside the river at Porepunkah, reports flocks of birds visit the property, particularly in the cooler months. His trap is now in position and we await his report.
The new traps, purchased with an Alpine Shire Council grant, will be operating in Eurobin and Ovens over the busy autumn season when flocks move through the valley.
