New 1200mm cardboard tree guards have been made for us to trial to protect against deer in our region. Come along for a demonstration of 100% biodegradable tree guards by Dale Tunstall from Global Green. Several groups will be attending including representatives from Alpine Shire, HVP, North East Water, Myrtleford Landcare.
Thanks to a grant from Bendigo Bank we will restore the native vegetation in an area where One Mile Creek meets the Ovens River. Last year, the North East Catchment Management Authority (NECMA) assisted with removing invasive weeds. Revegetation work will take place during autumn.
Look for the field day signs on the Ovens River side of the Great Alpine Road, in the vicinity of One Mile Creek Road.
This is a bush block with no power or toilets. The nearest public toilets are 2 kms away, at the Porepunkah Reserve on the Ovens River.
Bring a chair if required and wear suitable footwear.
